AWHONN’s Perinatal Advanced Continuing Education (PACE) Library is a 5-course program designed as an advanced-level educational resource to provide nurses and other clinicians with the comprehensive theoretical knowledge needed to provide holistic, family-centered care to women, their infants, and family members. Content included in the program is appropriate for experienced perinatal nurses and other healthcare providers. Registered nurses and advanced practice nurses are eligible to receive CNE credit. *** Each course within the PACE Library is 1 hour or 2 hours in length. Depending on the length and depth of the content, the online material is presented as modules within each course. The courses offered include: 1. AWHONN PACE Course I: Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy 2. AWHONN PACE Course II: Perinatal Loss 3. AWHONN PACE Course III: Thromboembolic Disorders of Pregnancy 4. AWHONN PACE Course IV: Cardiac Disease in Pregnancy 5. AWHONN PACE Course V: Respiratory Disorders of Pregnancy *** Each course includes a required post-test. PACE post tests are designed to assess the participants’ knowledge related to the stated course objectives, and to provide a measure of the effectiveness of the learning experience. *** Cardiac Disease in Pregnancy is an online course designed to help you identify, assess, and manage pregnant women with preexisting cardiac conditions and cardiac events occurring in pregnancy. Through this course, you will explore the classifications of cardiac disease as well as identify the woman’s risk for a cardiac event. Management will include a review of hemodynamic parameters, medication management, as well as resuscitation if indicated. Using critical thinking concepts presented in a case study format, you will apply knowledge in the management of a patient having a cardiac event in the intrapartum period.
