AWHONN’s Perinatal Advanced Continuing Education (PACE) Library is a 5-course program designed as an advanced-level educational resource to provide nurses and other clinicians with the comprehensive theoretical knowledge needed to provide holistic, family-centered care to women, their infants, and family members. Content included in the program is appropriate for experienced perinatal nurses and other healthcare providers. Registered nurses and advanced practice nurses are eligible to receive CNE credit. *** Each course within the PACE Library is 1 hour or 2 hours in length. Depending on the length and depth of the content, the online material is presented as modules within each course. The courses offered include: 1. AWHONN PACE Course I: Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy 2. AWHONN PACE Course II: Perinatal Loss 3. AWHONN PACE Course III: Thromboembolic Disorders of Pregnancy 4. AWHONN PACE Course IV: Cardiac Disease in Pregnancy 5. AWHONN PACE Course V: Respiratory Disorders of Pregnancy *** Each course includes a required post-test. PACE post tests are designed to assess the participants’ knowledge related to the stated course objectives, and to provide a measure of the effectiveness of the learning experience. *** Perinatal Loss is an online course designed to help you begin to explore the topic and issues surrounding pregnancy loss and its aftermath. Responses to perinatal loss vary widely, but for many families, the loss is unexpected and families may not know what to do, what to expect, or how to handle their grief. Through this course, you will explore various types of perinatal loss and the short and long term effects of the loss. It is important to note that the experience of loss may be profound, regardless of the gestational age of the fetus. This course will also provide insights and strategies for care-giving, teaching, and helping families cope and continue their lives with implementation of a case study. This discussion may lead to feelings of sadness for you as a healthcare provider.
