Intrapartum fetal heart rate monitoring is used to assess fetal oxygenation during labor to promote patient safety. To provide optimal patient care, providers (Registered Nurses, Nurse Midwives and Physicians) need to understand the terminology, interpretation of and patient management related to electronic fetal monitoring (EFM).
