This course is a seven-module online educational tool for registered nurses working in ambulatory surgery centers, endoscopy centers, physician office-based surgery centers and any other health care facility that provides moderate sedation without the presence of a licensed anesthesia care provider. This course will provide the level of education and training necessary to safely administer and monitor the patient receiving moderate sedation in an environment in which an anesthesia provider may not be available or may not be required. The learner will have four months in which to complete all seven modules.

HealthStream partner, echelon®, an approved CE provider by the Board of Nursing, has developed and will soon release an online course that meets all the requirements for nursing license renewal in conjunction with the laws and rules related to the practice of nursing.

The NRP 7th Edition Provider Course assesses knowledge of the causes, prevention, management of mild to severe neonatal asphyxia. Completion of this activity does not imply that an individual has the competence to perform neonatal resuscitation. Note: This is not an NRP Course. To obtain an NRP Provider Card, an individual must successfully complete the NRP 7th Edition Provider Course components: NRP 7th Edition Online Examination, eSimulation, and successfully participate in skills and simulation review and testing under the guidance of an NRP Instructor. The NRP Provider Card requires renewal every two years. CE credit is available and can be earned once every two years for successful study of the NRP materials and completion of the NRP 7th Edition Provider Exam, eSimulation cases, and the NRP 7th Edition Provider post-exam/eSimulation evaluation.
