This skill is associated with the skill verification for Adult Moderate Sedation. The student is evaluated measuring for correct size and placement of a Nasopharyngeal Airway (NPA). The student is taught to premeasure this airway adjunct if the patient matches some preprocedure airway red flag criteria. First adjunct utilized to bypass the tongue for a patient who is still arousable (deep sedation) , but is unable to manage their own airway.
